Want to wrestle big parts around inside of your cramped interior? Me either, but we did it anyway.
When it comes to roll bars and cages, it’s best to leave that stuff to the professionals, but RPM has created a bolt in 6 point bar that meets NHRA requirements and can be installed at home in a day or two. Mine came powder coated in white and ready to bolt in. It’s a hell of a job, but when it’s all said and done, it fits like a glove and looks amazing. The fitment is so spot on that you can retain your factory seats and still have full movement. It’s a chore to get into the back seat but once you’re back there, the passengers have plenty of room for seating. It comes with driver and passenger swing-away door bars and all the hardware to install it at home with simple tools. If you’re comfortable with stripping your interior and drilling a few holes, you’re qualified to install one of these in your ride.
Since we’ve gone well beyond the 135MPH limit on this current 6pt bar, the next step is to get RPM’s 8pt extension kit that comes complete with the window net and everything you need to get certified for some 8.50 time slips.
Call Rob at the number below and tell him I sent you. He can get you a setup in any color you want. But plan in advance because these are built to order and there can be some extra lead time during certain parts of the year. If you’re not up to the task, don’t worry. They also offer a full install at their shop in Oregon!
